Ford details F-150's aerodynamic, aesthetic improvements for 2015
Ford has recognized its developers for developing the "toughest looking" and most sleekly effective F150 ever.
"The vehicles distinct, boxy form gives it a challenging overall look, but actually the key to the style is streamlined performance - getting the most out of the form," said F-150 style administrator Kaira Richards. "We made F-150 look challenging and able, while also decreasing level of potential to deal with the breeze."
Richards recommend the distinct sides actually help enhance air circulation around the automobile, with back sides that help allow air to easily remove from the automobile with decreased disturbance and move. A duct under the front lights helps route air through the rim real estate, while a cut part fills up the gap between the cab and the bed to avoid air from getting stuck.
The 700-pound-lighter development and EcoBoost motor choice are said to accomplish at least 30 mpg.
